With 13 sessions to go, it lasts until December 7. I’m in a class with 12 other people of varying backgrounds. What we all have in common is our involvement with the nonprofit sector. More than anything, it's good to be around professional people again.
My aphasia got the best of me, though, during Friday's class. I could not even remember my company's name. I was on the hot seat, got real nervous, and when I had to provide the most basic information, I folded. Stuttering and stammering. Such is the nature of aphasia. It affects you at the most inopportune times.
I came home determined to not let that happen again. So I looked online for a resource that could help me improve my speaking (what took me so long?). I bought this ebook on apraxia, which is the inability to make your muscles form words so you can sound intelligible. The ebook is called The Source for Apraxia. It's full of exercises that twist your jaw up and down, then all around.
There you have it. My three milestones in one week. Everyone should be so lucky.
