I finally got a job after years of unemployment. Technically, I'm employed by AmeriCorps.
My team's job is to provide exhibition opportunities for our artists. We are also tasked with keeping track of the inventory. The areas of art include Painting, Drawing, Textiles, 3D/Mixed Media, and Ceramics.
My team and I met physically for the first time at an IA storage unit on North Lamar. After two weeks on Zoom orientation, we were finally able to meet up. Masked and socially distanced (as much as possible), we viewed the inventory of artwork housed in a 10 x 20 climate controlled stall.
Between two storage areas (the other on E. Cesar Chavez), nearly 600 pieces of Art will need to be catalogued and inventoried. I am confident we can accomplish these tasks.
My team is in charge of exhibiting our clients’ artwork while organizing and keeping track of the inventory. We have to figure ways to sell it all. Finding new markets and homes for all of the art is the goal.
It's a team made in heaven.
