Practicing YOGA for one hour BEFORE SUNRISE, DOES IT FOR ME
Don't just take my word for it. Google yoga to discover the many websites already discussing the health, social and spiritual benefits of yoga. There are many styles of yoga with relatively straightforward with poses that are simple to follow, like a forward bend. And other forms that have more complex poses, like downward dog or warrior pose.
I practice kundalini yoga with its own special poses, chants, mantras and meditations. There is a yoga technique for everyone. As a stroke survivor, I prefer my yoga in a chair. No matter what kind of yoga is practiced, relaxation through breathing is key.

Vic's 7 Steps to Shoulder Release For those who tend to hold all their stress in the shoulders.
Using your best posture, sit comfortably in a straight back chair (with a pillow or padding on the seat), your feet squarely on the floor under your knees and take medium breaths. Chest rising as your diaphragm fills with oxygen, then falling when the air is expelled. (Careful not to get so lightheaded that you pass out.)

- Warm-up by doing shrugs. Inhale medium breaths, while lifting both shoulders up to your ears. Hold pose for 5 seconds. Exhale . . . release and drop the shoulders. Repeat 5 x.
- Begin this shoulder relaxation exercise by releasing tension in your brow and closing your eyes 90% of the way.
- Unclench your teeth and release the jaw. (No teeth should be touching) Continue breathing at a moderate pace.
- Allow your cheeks to sag and cool air to pass through the nasal passages.
- Form the hint of a smile. Humans smile more than we frown; it's easier.
- Breathe into your throat and neck, loosening their grip on your shoulders. Droop your shoulders more on each exhale. (Drop your trapeziums, while loosening the scapulars.)
- Try doing the above steps simultaneously. Continue breathing easily, conscious of any stress trying to creep back in. Continue for 5 minutes to an hour.
Prana and Apana

The prana and apana is what breathes inside of us and makes us alive. After we die, there is still have air inside of us, but the prana has left.
We need that spark of prana to make us alive. It's the essence of life. The apana is the outgoing breath, what is referred to as the eliminating force or cleansing breath of life.
I find this information to be fascinating and very believable. At age 64 and a stroke survivor for 8 years, I am still trying to make myself useful and relevant. I must meditate
I have expanded my a.m. yoga regimen to include kundalini. It's a type of yoga with three elements: vibrations in the form of chanted mantras, aprayan (breathing exercises) and poses. If you stay at something long enough, you are eventually going to become engaged, then enlightened. So far, it's making good sense to me.

Chanting is Intergral
Still at it after it after a 18 months. But I’ve eased up on the throttle, and do not practice as intensely as I did last year. I practice three times a week and I lay off the Sat Kriya, except now and then.
I chant four mantras during each practice. One for protection, one for prosperity, and another for connecting to the Creator. I tune in, first, with a chant/vibration meant for guidance. There are chants for many reasons.
I adopted a new chant for prosperity. Since I began, different opportunities have come to my awareness. It's a very simple chant with four syllables repeated, followed by a response:
har har har har Gobinday
har har har har Mukunday.
har har har har Udaaray
har har har har Apaaray
har har har har Hariang
har har har har Kariang
har har har har Nirnamay
har har har har Akaamay
Prosperity can mean many different things to a yogi. From everyday awakenings to ultimate enlightenment, prosperity crosses many thresholds.
We have a spectrum of possibilities. The yogi can learn to intuitively recognize opportunities.
