For The Times they are a changin'

We are having to move. After nearly 7 years of living on Side B, at 703 Brownlee Circle in Old West Austin, Kim and Jason understandably need more space. The boys, Dillon and Atticus are growing up fast and need room to spread their wings. Oliver is nearly 3 years old and just learning to run with the pack.
We have had it good these past 7 years or so. Nestled in the heart of downtown Austin, with access to all it has to offer. Just thinking about it makes me melancholy. BooHoo!
No clue as to where we are going to move to next, but my realtor family will be on it shortly.
But change is inevitable. Whether it's your health, finances, State of Mind, or your weight, just to name a few. Nothing is permanent, however some things are more so than others. My dad has been in the same house, one which he built, for as long as I have been alive. I was born in 1956. For him, time has seemingly stilled.

2004 Pontiac Vibe, RIP

Did I mention we had to get a new car. The old Vibe finally succumbed. During our last trip to San Antonio, the Vibe began vibrating and shaking so badly on the way home that we had to pull over. We drove 45 - 55 the rest of the way to Austin. After 14 years, she was traded in for a 2014 Honda CR-V. I'll have to get used to the bells and whistles of a modern SUV.

The Honda is so roomy and flashy, complete with sun roof and seat warmers. It's safe enough for grandkids and the cargo area is perfect for hauling my scooter around. It's charcoal with tinted windows. New Mexico, here we come!

Yesterday was 11/11/11, signifying the end of World War 1. Each year, we take pause to honor veterans of all wars on Armistice Day. Yesterday, there were ceremonies all over the world, and there will be a parade in Austin today. Thank you, veterans, for your service, sacrifice and bravery.

HandySports?

It's because most stroke survivors are hemiplegiac, affecting either the left or the right side of their body. In my case, and with most other stroke survivors, one of the hands is spastic. Meaning it can't move naturally, calmly, or fluidly in unison with other parts of the body.
And, I would like to believe that everything revolves around sport.That element lends itself to drama.
In one way or another, every act we perform as stroke survivors is a sporting challenge: balance, coordination, strength, and stamina.
Our opponent is either physical or mental in nature, often both. We play against formidable foes such as paralysis, aphasia, apraxia, dementia, et al.
