"Nobody puts baby in a corner!"
PATRICK SWAZI IN DIRTY DANCING, 1987
Caregivers are taken for granted. We take for granted they'll be there in the morning to help you when needed, and anticipating your movements throughout the day. No matter what your relationship: spouse, relative or professional, it's still a challenge to be dealt with.
My 3 month hospital stay threw me into a stranger routine, where for the first month I could not recognize anybody due to my aphasia.
I can't imagine how I would deal with a stranger, now. I've had my Chris as my #1 carer for all my injury, going on 8 years. But some people have to rely on others from time to time, and some permanently.
On the spectrum of recovery there are many stages. While certain people are able to bounce
Funny thing is, the whole community chips in by recognizing disabled folks the same along with everybody else.
To see caregivers in action, Can enough be said about care givers? They can be counted on to be there when needed.
